Impact provides acupuncture, chiropractic and homeopathy in primary care settings. Acupuncture, chiropractic and homeopathy provide whole-person, flexible care for patients with a range of conditions. Each intervention has its own diagnostic approach and unique treatment techniques, which can safely be used alongside conventional medical care.
“Almost all of the patients I have referred to Impact have made a point of reporting to me the improvement in pain levels and mobility they have experienced, and clearly therefore improvement in their quality of life… The ability to refer into such a service has also added to my ability to offer holistic care to a wider group of clients. I do hope that the area which you cover can be widened so that more patients can experience the benefit and equity of care can therefore be achieved.”
Practice Nurse
We can effectively treat a range of long term conditions, including:
- Back pain
- Musculoskeletal disorders
- Chronic pain
- Mental health conditions, including anxiety and depression
- Menstrual and gynaecological conditions.
At Impact, we have developed expertise in working with patients in an integrated way – using a combination of interventions with patients, tailored to individual needs. Patients with long term physical and mental conditions often have complex needs. One intervention only – either conventional or complementary – is unlikely to lead to lasting improvements. Our integrated approach offers patients with chronic, complex conditions the possibility of improvement and/or effective management. When patients are treated at Impact, we assess their needs and decide on the most appropriate package of care, which may involve treatment with one, two or occasionally all of our interventions. Regular discussions are held with each patient on the progress of their treatment, and the other health professionals involved in their care – particularly GPs and practice nurses – are kept fully informed about their treatment at Impact.
“The whole team has proved to be extremely sympathetic and supportive throughout, and each therapist has worked together in giving me all of the available therapies at the most receptive times in my healing process. Which through time, has proved to have been very effective indeed. They have helped me to understand how to manage my feelings around my illness and also given me treatments that I have responded well to. In fact, I don't think I would be attempting to set up my own business had I never had these available treatments. I am still aware that I am not totally over my illness and maybe I never will be, but had it not been for Impact, I believe I would still be a statistic that would have continued to live in pain and discomfort and as a result not have been able to attempt any type of employment. So for that I am eternally grateful.”
